We receive many calls from tourists distressed about dogs in East Bali. This is an area that requires a concentrated effort to reduce the number of dogs and this is our next target. It has now become feasible due to the creation of a charity based in Ubud, Yayasan B.A.W.A (Bali Animal Welfare Association) which has rapidly grown to become the largest organisation assisting the plight of Bali’s dogs.

BAWA Spay/Neuter Van
We are providing 100% of the funding for this project. The van is based in Ubud and is operating six days a week in East Bali. The team comprises two veterinarians and two drivers/dog catchers. As well as desexing they provide basic veterinary care for skin disease and intestinal parasites. They also undertake the distressing task of humane euthanasia where required.
BAWA Education Program in Schools
This program reaches out to 10 and 11 year old children through interactive sessions and competitions where they learn the benefits of animal care and the joy that an animal can bring to their lives.
BAWA 24 Hour Emergency Van
We have given an initial donation to establish the first 24 hour emergency vehicle in Bali. This van will travel to wherever it is needed. We are providing ongoing assistance in veterinary advice and administration.
